Why is SimulScan unique?
SimulScan on the MultiFrax is unique because it actually improves the results of the two different lasers by using them together! Since each laser is treating a different depth in your skin, the SimulScan prevents energy from being wasted where it can’t do its job at its best, but when you use just one of the lasers at a time, some of the laser is going to spill over where it can’t make the biggest difference for your skin. Simulscan gives you better outcomes, with less discomfort, and an easier recovery.
Am I a candidate for the MultiFrax?
Unlike most resurfacing lasers, the MultiFrax is safe on all skin tones and on all parts of the body. Since the MultiFrax can do very light maintenance treatments, or more intense corrective treatments, most people can be a great candidate. If you have any pigment or texture concerns or want to improve skin laxity on the face or body, a corrective treatment
might be for you. If you are looking for pre-juventation, want a glow before an event, or just want to fine tune your skin, a maintenance treatment would be perfect.
What does the MultiFrax feel like?
For a lighter maintenance treatment, it will feel like tiny warm prickles across the surface of your skin. By the end of the treatment, you will feel warm for a few hours. You don’t always need numbing cream, but your provider might recommend it depending on your treatment plan.
For a more corrective treatment, it will feel like the same tiny prickles over the skin, but you will feel more heat. Afterward, you will feel like you have a sunburn for about a day. Depending on the treatment plan your provider puts together for you, your provider may recommend numbing cream to help with any discomfort during the treatment.
What social downtime can I expect?
For maintenance treatments, the downtime is minimal. You can expect to be pink for the rest of the day. Depending on the treatment plan, you might also see MENDs, which are teeny brown dots that come up and then fall off in about 5-7 days, revealing the fresh skin underneath. These are barely visible, and easily covered with make-up as soon as 24 hours after your treatment.
For corrective treatments, you can expect to be red for about 24-48 hours, and there will be more MENDs which gives your skin a sandpaper-like texture for about a week, up to two, before revealing the results you’ve been waiting for. You can still usually cover them with makeup within about 24-48 hours.
